Three years ago, Peter and Tammy met in Mexico. Two travellers, separately exploring, who ended up on the same path.
Peter was born and raised in Ljubljana, knowing Slovenia the way only a local can - the hidden corners, the most beautiful lake spots, the one-of-a-kind hotels. Tammy was from London, well travelled, but had never been to Slovenia.

Over three years of visits, Tammy watched a country reveal itself. The mountains, the city, the lakes, the forests, the coast - all within close driving distance of each other. The food, the people, the pace of life. A place that felt genuinely undiscovered compared to everywhere else in Europe, and covered in overwhelmingly natural beauty.
Slovenia by Heart was built out of that experience. We wanted to give other travellers what we had - real insider knowledge, trusted connections, and a trip that feels effortless from start to finish.

TAMMY
Before Slovenia by Heart, Tammy spent nearly a decade working across fashion, luxury travel, and marketing - running events, managing brands, and eventually working for herself copywriting and managing social media for brands. She's done the corporate side and the self-employed side, and picked up a sharp eye for detail and a low tolerance for anything half-done along the way. These days she runs the client-facing side of Slovenia by Heart: marketing, itineraries, writing, and making sure every guest feels looked after from the first email to the last night's dinner.
MEET
PETER
Peter grew up in Ljubljana, though he's since called Prague and Amsterdam home too - proof that even a born-and-raised local can't resist a bit of wandering. He's worked in Slovenian hospitality and had a stint in the corporate world. Now he's the one behind the scenes: building relationships with the hotels, guides, and winemakers who make up the Slovenia by Heart collection, and making sure every one of them meets the same standard he'd expect for a friend.
Why We Started Slovenia By Heart

Slovenia is a small country, but an extraordinary one - mountains, lakes, coast, vineyards and cities all within a couple of hours of each other. Most visitors only ever see a fraction of it, simply because they don't know what they're missing. Slovenia By Heart exists to change that. Between us we know exactly where the best of the country is - so you don't spend your trip guessing. We plan it, we manage it, and make sure nothing worth seeing gets missed. All you have to do is enjoy it.

Every trip starts with a conversation - what you love, how you like to travel - and is built from there, using relationships we've spent years forming with hotels and guides across the country.
