We’re Tammy and Peter. Peter is from and lives in Slovenia, and I am based in London. After visiting Slovenia consistently for nearly three years, I fell in love with the beauty, nature and culture of this country. Seeing it with fresh eyes made me realise how overlooked it is by so many. It truly ticks all the boxes. It suits all ages, is easy to access, even easier to get around, offers great value, and the scenery is unlike anywhere I have seen before.

After experiencing the intensity and fast pace of London for many years, spending time here helped reset my nervous system. I think many can relate to the busyness of everyday life, and nature is a powerful antidote. When ten friends from the UK visited in 2024, their reactions said everything. They were genuinely in awe, and left amazed by how much the country offered them, each having a different but equally memorable experience. It inspired us to show more people Slovenia.

So we founded Slovenia By Heart. A way to bridge the gap between people and Slovenia, and to show you around like a local. A way to make it easier for anyone to come here and get the very best out of the country. Thanks to Peter’s Slovenian community, we are able to offer reduced-rate, off-the-grid experiences that are not commonly found on travel sites or generic research. The most untouched corners. Places where you are more likely to be among locals than tourists. Places we know by heart.
