About Us

Peter, from Slovenia, and Tammy, from London, met while travelling separately in Mexico, 2023.

As their relationship grew, so did Tammy’s love of Slovenia. Peter showed her the country properly, from mountains and lakes to coastline, vineyards and forest. What stood out, aside from the outstanding natural beauty, was how much Slovenia offers in such a small space. It is compact enough that you spend your time exploring, not travelling too much between places.

Slovenia is one of the last 3 European countries where the majority of the land is forest. The scale of the natural landscape, combined with its accessibility, makes it rare. For Tammy, coming from London, it felt like a reset. Space, air and simplicity. Something many would benefit from more often.

Together, they realised how overlooked Slovenia is, particularly in the UK. Many don’t know about it, especially the amazing value compared to larger, more commercial destinations.

Slovenia By Heart was founded to bridge that gap.
